Covid cases rise by 948% in Florida
In just two weeks, Corona cases in Florida have increased by 948 percent, as the highly transmissible Omicron form pushes a massive wave of diseases and illnesses across the United States.
Even though Joe Biden’s best medical advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, warned the public to look to hospitalizations rather than illnesses to determine the severity of Omicron, the weekly average for US patients admitted with Corona jumped by more than 40% between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Despite the fact that tests are in low supply in many locations, cases have increased by more than 100 percent nationwide, and infections have doubled in the last seven days to an average of 418,000 each day, according to a Reuters count.
Local and state officials in Florida warned that individuals were waiting hours, if not days, in lines that stretched for miles to obtain a test. Some have criticized the state’s health department, as well as Governor Ron DeSantis, of being non-responsive.
Shevrin Jones, a state senator, wrote, “It’s every person for themselves because leadership is MIA.”
Omicron appears to be a milder but potentially deadly variation, according to evidence. However, according to the New York Times, it “will continue to cause catastrophic harm among the unvaccinated in both the United States and around the world.”
